Little Tom

I'm feeling horrible about the little guy. He is on my front porch tonight crying for attention. I went out there, but he is still scared. He can't come in our shed, because my tom will hurt him. I did set food outside and milk and a warm blanket for him to snuggle in.

Here I go again. There is a little stray tom cat hanging around. He is injured (as most stray toms are, unfortunately) He's been elusive for a couple of months, but has decided to become verbal the last couple of days. I think he has been spying on me, and realizes that I am the care taker of the other cats. So I coaxed him to me tonight, and he was really craving petting big time. I gave him some antibiotics on some food (he has been sneaking cat food for months now, so he is NOT hungry or skinny) We'll take this one day at a time I guess. I'm afraid it was one of my other toms that hurt him though. Why do tom cats have to fight.

Cats, Cats are everywhere! Help!

Cold weather is upon us, and th cats want in. They get what they want too. I have all three cats in this little room with me, and they are sleeping peacefully. (which is what I should be doing)

Speaking of cats, At the house next door where I have fed the feral cats for two years, some changes have come. Only one cat remains. Gray Baby is the last of the group. Well, some people have moved in the house. Local people. There is a young woman there that has told me she will put food out for the cat. I am trusting her to do it, and I hope she does as she said she would. I explained that gray baby may not come around when she is there, because she is wild, but that she should put food out anyway. It's hard to let go and stop going there everyday, but I guess it's time for me to let go. I just can't help worrying.

This is Madame Esmeralda. My Halloween fortune teller. Made from a cosmetologists manequin head, a pair of jewelry display hands, and crackled glass ball filled with orange halloween lights and various cloth. I also set a pair of old shoes under neath the cloth.

Well, she looked like one anyway. I felt like a saw a celebrity! This little old lady was eating with her family. Picture this... an average american family, and one member looked like a classic Hansel and Gretel Witch! She was so cute! The big nose, and long chin. She had a wrap or hat of some type on, and she was little and kind of bent over. My Daughter had a hard time not staring. I wanted to invite her to my Halloween party. She was the coolest looking person I ever saw!

My 5 year old Granddaughter made a booklet at school. She brought it home and had to take it back to school the next day. She colored a picture of a bear with chocolate pudding, and a bird with red jello. Well, overnight, their dog ate it! I wonder if her teacher ever heard that one before! HA!

It is happening again

I am sitting up at the computer. All three cats are within view, and all are sleeping, very still. I hear a clinking and clanking noise in the kitchen. What the?????? Do I have a ghost, or is it possible that I have a mouse in this tiny house with three large tom cats in residence? This happens all the time. Always at night, usually 11:00 or later. Haven't found any mouse tracks anywhere. Oh well, if it's a ghost, I'm Ok as long as I don't see anything.

Site of the old State Prison, from the 1830's. The prison is gone but this area marks the spot where hundreds of dead prisoners were buried in a mass grave. We were told of this after we had sat on the rocks in this spot.

The Ghost Tour Pics!

OK... well, I didnt think that there was any activity on the tour, but after loading my pics, I ended up with some orbs!
In this pic we are leaving the Unitarian Church. A minister hanged himself here many years ago. The second pic is the room in which the hanging occured. Several people saw a lihgt on the wall behind the tour guide (of course my back was turned) I snapped some pics and here are the orbs. The other pics I have of these rooms have no orbs.

In this pic we were sitting in lawn chairs in the basement of the MkPike Mansion with the lights out. They were talking to Henry MkPike and asking him to do something to let us know he was with us. Then they said to take pics in the dark, which we did. Flashbulbs going off like crazy. When the lights came on we realized that there had been a little bat hanging above up the whole time!

This is in the underground railroad under a very old house that has been converted to apartments. There was a light in the doorway, I believe, but it looks cool how it is all glowy and stuff!

A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE

I had the fright of my life today. Morgan and I were driving to the bank and I gave her a cookie to eat and took one myself (gooey brownie cookies) I took a bite and started to laugh at Morgan, and the bite sealed my windpipe. Now, I have choked before but nothing like this.
I seriously could not get any air at all. Every time I tried to breathe in it sealed the windpipe tighter. Here I was driving down the road and not able to breathe. Morgan was screaming in the backseat, she is 5 and already has a fear of one of us dying (me, my MIL or her Mom). I just saw her terrified little face in the rear view mirror and I couldn't comfort her. It was horrible. I pulled into McDonalds, and was going to try to go inside and get help when the cookie dissolved enough that I could get air.
I just remember thinking that I could not let my Grand Daughter see me die. Then thinking, I just really might die. Very scary. It made my other aches and pains seem like nothing. We had a real good day after that. Maybe I needed a good scare to make me appreciate what I have.

The rest of the werewolf story

Suprised by his heightened senses. He hears, smells, and sees everything with such clarity. Yes, the turmoil is leaving, the urge has won. He has one purpose now. He is on the hunt. Suddenly he spots movement in the clearing. He smells life nearby. Listening with intent, he hears a distant voice, innocent laughter.
As he begins to slither toward the laughter, he notices the world around him starts to change. Branches on the trees begin to glimmer....a gentle light shines all around him. Panic sets in....
The fear of being noticed, of someone screaming. As the light becomes brighter, he hobbles behind a structure. His head grows dizzy as humility re-enters his soul. Lying in the wet grass he slowly regains his composure. Standing upright he begins to walk toward the main road.
Passing by his neighbors, waving and smiling at each one. He wonders what they must think of his tattered clothing and what horrific headlines he will read. ...So is the life of a werewolf.......The end

Homage to the Werewolf

As I walked outside to head home tonight. I looked up at the sky. It looked familiar with its smokey clouds and big white moon shining high. Like something from a werewolf story. I began to think about the werewolf, and it's unsung contribution to Halloween. The old guy doesn't get enough credit, so I decided to write a little piece about him. I started this on facebook in our Society of Eclectic Halloween Artists fan page.

The moon is full tonight 'neath the smokey clouds. In the distance I hear a howl, followed by a heart wrenching wimper. An unnatural disturbance.
Hiding in the shadows a desparate soul is torn between what is decent and the horrible urge that consumes him. An inner turmoil of massive proportions. Suddenly the urge gains momentum as the moon iluminates his wretched silhouette.
He starts off toward town, creeping along the dark corners, behind the bushes. he must not allow himself to be seen by anyone. Appearing not, as man nor animal, but rather a strange combination of the two. A beast of sorts, with a human heart beating inside.

Daily Adventures

A man came in our store yesterday. Traveling cross country with two horses and his dog. He was raising money for troubled kids. His dog rode one of the horses by the way. A storm was brewing and he needed a place to bed down, pitch a tent, and tie up his horses. The nearest campground was 4 miles away, and the storm was almost here. I told him to pitch his tent behind the store, but there was no place to tie up the horses, so off he went to the campground. I looked at the little dog perched on the pack horse, and the lightening and thunder started, and it downpoured. I ran up to the crew of four, and asked the man if I could take his dog out to the campground in my car, and he unhooked her from the horse and handed her over to me.
Well, they took off, and you coulden't even hardly see them in the hard rain, so I followed behind him with my flashers on. His pack horse was spooked, and kept giving him fits, turning in circles. He would get her straightened up and trotting along, and then she would get spooked again.
We took a quick detour to my MIL's car port till the lightening stopped, and somewhere along the way he lost his cell phone.
After we got back on our jouney again he found his phone, and luckily it was OK. It took about an hour to ge the 4 miles in the storm, and his dog would start barkig in my car every time the pack horse got spooked and the guy had to discipline it (That was HER horse). Finally for the last mile he had to de-mount his horse and walk the two horses the rest of the way.
I am such a worrier, I just keep thinking abut them, especially the little dog, and the scared pack hourse. I wish them luck on their journey, and I hope when they get accross the country, they have someone waiting for them to take them home.

Stories set in stone

A Sad Story

This Tombstone is from the town cemetery where I grew up. I have removed the last name since it is a more recent one, and family may still be alive. This little girl caught herself on fire while playing with matches, we were told when we were young. The especially sad part is that her brother grabbed a bucket of liquid to put it out, and it was gasoline, not water. The oval indention is a place where her picture used to be. Through the years vandals removed the picture numerous times, her family kept replacing it. They either gave up, or no one is left to replace it anymore. So tragic.

OK I am not talking about MY background story, but rather the story of this blog background. I am on the hunt for interesting tombstones. The tombstone pics on this blog background are from a local cemetery. The one on the left of your screen is very interesting. It is of a little girl. The headstone is of a tree stump with the little girl's hat and boots. If anyone out there knows how they did this, please tell me. It looks like underneath the outer covering there is a real tree stump, boots and hat. Is it all carved out of granite or stone? Here is a better image.

Morgan did it again!

About a year ago (April 30 2009) I added a post to this blog about Morgan (my then three year old grandaughter) finding a 4 leaf clover right when I was just about to explain 4 leaf clovers to her. Well, today, Morgan and I were at our old house (renters moved out) and we were looking for 4 leaf clovers. She said "Maybe we can find a 5 leaf clover" Well, I started finding 4 leaf clovers, I found four of them, and then right while I was explaining that I didn't think we could find a 5 leaf clover, I spotted one! Yes, It was a five leaf clover! I will post a pic as soon as it gets pressed flat. This could only happen with my Morgan. She is amazing.

More kitty drama

Well this blog should be called the shabby cat I guess. The man that had the cats that I feed that was in the nursing home passed away. I went over to feed the little gray female, and she came running up to me, so I decided to feed her at the barn again, because that is where the mans son wants me to feed them (to keep the coons away from the house area) well I hadn't been out there since the beginning of Winter, I had been feeding them in the little shed. I saw their food bowl, and it had an oily blue liquid in it. I don't think it was antifreeze, but I do think it was a poison. It had darker blue streaks in it like it had been mixed up. I don't know what is going on, but I think he is trying to poison the coons. I didn't want to dump it on the ground, but I didn't want the kitty to get into it, so I set it up high, and took her food back to the little shed by the house. Things like this really bother me. The little gray cat did run up to the bowl, but she didn't seem to want to drink what was in it. She just kind of looked in it, and looked up at me, like aren't you going to feed me? the other weird thing that happened to me today was, I saw a coyote run across the road around 6:30 pm. He stopped in the field, looked at me for about 30 seconds, and ran off. I don't like the coons being around either, they are very destructive, but I figure the best thing to do is to put the cat food away before evening so they won't come around.

He has a home

The kitty has a home. I hope it's a good home. The woman seemed as sweet as she could be, but the man was a little rough. She promised they would spoil him, and she would keep me posted. He will be a house cat. He will be company to a chihuahua. I told her that if ANYTHING doesn't work out, to bring him back to the house and I'll feed him with the wild cats. I wish I could have kept him, but three cats is about all we have room for. This one is special though. I hope it works out for the best. Im calling her in a couple of days to see how it's going. I'll post updates.

A Kitty Dilema

What should I do? I really don't know the answer this time. Next door where I feed some semi wild cats (the owner is in the nursing home, almost 100 yrs old) Most of the cats are not around anymore. just one young grey female she is afraid of everyone but me, and a really wild yellow tom, but he gets the heck out every time I come around. OK, all of a sudden a new male cat showed up, a beautiful long haired grey tabby, young but mostly full grown. This one is a lover boy, not wild at all. He had to be someones pet. He follows me on the enclosed porch to get the food, he wants to be petted and held. No problem right? well, I am torn between trying to find him a home and leaving him there. The little grey female used to buddy up with the old black and white Tom that has dissappeared. She didn't like this new guy at first, but I think she does now. They eat together, and she eats better now. (actually tries to hog the food dish, LOL) Do I leave him there to be her companion, or do I find him a loving home, and let her get deserted again? I don't know if he is tough enough to live outside. He seems happy as long as I spend some time with him each day. He tried to get in my car today. Their only human contact is me once a day. I am thinking of leaving him there through the warm weather, but he may not survive. I can't bring him to my house my yellow tom will chase him away. And my Husband will leave me LOL. Maybe I should run an ad and see what happens, maybe no one will answer it. Help! To meddle or let nature take charge?

Sorry to all of you that love facebook. You must have nice positive experiences on there. I have noticed that it brings out the ugly, rude side of some very nice people. I like to think that old fashioned "politeness" is not obsolite. I have vowed to surround myself with positive energy, and to stay away from the negative. (quite frankly, I don't think I can stand anymore negativity in my life) So if you were a Facebook friend of mine, do not feel I am talking about you. Please don't think I am. It's just not for me. My blog friends are my favorite, You guys are the best! Please, if you were a facebook friend of mine, contact me here or at my email. And take this advice... Stay away from negative people, it really is contagious. I am on a happiness quest!
I think I'll stay right here in my little Halloween world : )

Halloween and creativity go hand in hand. Parents creating one of a kind costumes, and children smiling from ear to ear. Decorating your porch or yard. Every Halloween creation is unique. A one of a kind treasure. Even mischievous toilet paper creations flying in the trees. Whatever your style, eerie, creepy, silly, funny, vintage, crafty, gory, Halloween is the art gallery and the spectators are our neighbors that open their homes to the kids, the friends we invite to our parties, the people driving down the street that glance at the trick or treaters. Halloween really is the beste'st day of the year.

Ready for warm humid weather

Oh I am so ready for warm humid weather. To open the windows and feel the warm breeze. Air the house out. I promise I won't complain this summer about the heat and humidity. (well, not very much anyway) The lazy days, when the sun stays around till almost bedtime. Rides in the golf cart with my grand Daughter to find "fuzzies" (dandelions) in the yard. Only a few weeks, and it will be here. The weeks fly by so fast.. just blink and it will be here.

Does anyone suffer from adhesions?

Not my typical post, but I have been suffering the pain of abdominal adhesions for some time now (about 2 years) and it is at times really hard to function. I was wondering if anyone out there has these, or has had surgery for them? It's just horrible. My surgeon will not operate without an Xray, in which case I have to make myself sick for the Xray to show anything. Sorry, not going to do it.

Halloween Props gone wild!

A simple idea... a mannequin head on a stick peeking out of my barn window. Simple, not too scary, but an effective illusion to add to the rest of my props. Fast forward two months, same prop still in the barn window, neglected, and forgotten. Walking up to the barn, wait! Whats that... What is in her face? It looks kind of creepy...
On closer investigation.... "It's dead flies!" Now that is a Halloween prop. If I can only keep it up till next October.

ANOTHER HALLOWEEN

This was my 49th Halloween in this life. I never get tired of them. We had another family party, with Jack O Lanterns, Lots of orange lights, and of course a graveyard out back, filled with real live ZOMBIES! Well, they LOOKED like zombies anyway. It was fun, and some orbs even showed up on my Zombie pic! (psst... it's baby powder filled air, don't tell though!)

Time for me to come out of hibernation! It's cooling off outside, the air is getting drier, the leaves are beginning to fall!
I have started the preparation for my Halloween party! Each year has to beat the last year. This time it will be a country barn party, with Zombie land in the back under the two big old dead trees for the teens and pre teens. Some silly scary fun for the little ones inside. Now for the fun of the preparation!

I found Tommy!

One of the neighbor cats that I fed for the past year was always being roughed up by the dominant male of the group. I named him Tommy. He would come to my house to nibble on my cats' food some evenings, usually being chased away by one of my cats too. Seemed like he just always to be "someones" cat, but had to fight his way every day, and being a little smaller male, he never came out as the winner. He is a lovable little soul. Well, I haven't seen him for months now, and I was a little worried. last night I was driving down a street about 2 miles away, and along the road I saw a cat walking. It was cow spotted like Tommy! I just knew it was him. I didn't stop, because it was Midnight, I didn't have anything to feed him, and There were houses nearby. Well tonight, I decided to drive down that same road, and sure enough, there he was again. This time I was armed with a can of Friskies. I got out and called him, and he started meowing. Sure enough it was Tommy. He still has scars from "Big Daddy" always fighting him. I'm happy to say, I got to pet him, and feed him, and I'll sleep a little better tonight. I think the people in those houses must feed him, or else he wouldn't have gone so far away from home. No male competition around there I guess. Big Daddy has disappeared though, and I don't think it's good news for him. He would have never left this "territory" willingly. The two females, are still around, and I feed them every day. The youngest is starting to get a little tame now. I had the females spayed, so no babies will be born. These little feline souls, have deeply touched my heart. They were all but starved when their owner went into a nursing home. As a matter of fact one of their siblings died on my front porch, having starved. That is how I came to know of their situation. People should not allow their cats to reproduce, unless they have the means to take care of them, and if the owner is an elderly person, then their children should take the situation in hand, and have the animal spayed. It is a sad sad thing to see a starved kitten lying on your porch as if they are sleeping. Poor little thing, it walked a long way to get to my house, hoping to find someone to save it. It was a sacrifice, so the others could get help.

We had a bat in our belfry tonight! OK maybe we don't have a belfry, but we do have a barn connected to our house, and it flew in while we were out there! It even scared the cat, whom I don't think could figure out what it was. It sent me running for the house. It found it's way back out shortly after though. I hope he comes back for my Halloween party!

I just got home from work, and sure enough all the cats were in the shed, and I peeked in the door to make sure they wouldn't get out when I opened it, and I saw a rat tail!
The possum was in there again!!!!!! He must be living in there and we just don't see him during the day. I locked the cats up at 5:00 today, and he must have already been in there! I can't stand this! I guess I'll have to remove all food for a few days, so he HAS to leave to eat! I'm closing up the shed at 3:00 from now on!

One good note - I found Tommy the lost feral cat! He is a sweetie and I haven't seen him for about three months. I saw him running in the field on my way up the lane. I got out and he came running to me, but he wouldn't follow me to the house the car motor scared him away. I got to pet him a little, but I wanted to feed him too. At least I know he is OK. I'm not used to country life! It can be creepy! I feed the neighbor cats (slightly wild) The neighbor is in the nursing home. His son buys the food, and keeps it on the porch and I feed them. Well a coon is opening the spring hinge door and eating the food. He tore into a brand new bag of food! Ripped it up , and chewed the guys boot! I put the food in a storage tub now, and I'm afraid if I tell the guy, he will shoot it. I guess I'll keep my mouth shut. He's going to wonder what happened to his boot though. I saw that coon once, and he is HUGE! I came in yelling about the possum tonight, and DH started humming "Green Acres" theme song!

A REAL FRIGHT

OK, can someone tell me how to wind down and go to sleep at midnight after a blood curdling scream? I opened the door from our house to our shed (they are attached) to let my cats in (3 of them) and saw something that looked like a cartoon rat! It was a baby opossum, and I screamed so hard I can still feel it in my rib cage! Those scream queens of the old slasher movies got nothin' on me! the possum looked at me and squeezed under a nearby cabinet. I think I scared him so bad he'll never come out! The worst thing was when I slammed the door shut, I realized my three cats were out there with the "rat" How was I to get them in without letting "IT" in?
I wanted to go outside and open the shed door, hoping it would go outside, but my 16 year old baby boy Dootsy was in that shed, and I wasn't letting him out in the dark. He is a house cat. So, I slowly cracked the door open, and called the cats. No good, they were amazed by the possum, they weren't coming in, no way. They were all sniffing around the cabinet. Next move, I got a can of tuna and cracked the door open again, slowly turning the can opener, so they could hear it. OK, here they came one at a time. Whew! Then I decided to go outside and open the shed door. As soon as I got out there I realized this was a "baby" opossum, and there might be a mommy opossum nearby. Well, I got the door open, and back inside safely. Now I cant wind down. OH yeah I have to get up real early tomorrow too! Guess I'm going to bed... goodnight!
Hmmm.. I have to admit he was kinda cute in an ugly way.
NOTE: I listened to "house at Pooh Corner" from my Playlist, I'm OK now.

Oh The Pressures of Life!

Too many pressures in this 'ol life. If we could just only do what we enjoy, wouldn't that be great? Or would it take the fun out of what we enjoy? You know, that just might happen, and what a tragedy that would be. So, I guess, I'll just keep plugging along, going to work, and cleaning house, and cooking, and then finally at the end of the day... sneaking in some painting or beading or card making. That's what makes it so special, I have to work at finding the time for it. I guess that way we feel as though we've EARNED it. Well it's time to go home, and go to bed. Very busy day tomorrow, and the next day and probably the day after... Hope you all have a a busy week ahead of you, and still find time to do something you enjoy.

I found this cool old RCA Tube Radio, and had to turn it into Shabby Hag Decor! It really works (sound is good) The knob used to dial stations in only goes half way though, so it could use some work.

Time to hibernate

Summer is my time to hibernate (as much as possible) Once the temps reach 85* plus, I've had all the outdoor fun I'm going to have. A nice brisk walk from the front door to the car, and the car into work. That's about it. Don't worry, I'll come alive again in the Fall, when it's time to plan for my Halloween party. Lots of outdoor fun then! Decorating the yard with tombstones, and skeletons. Hop on the golf cart and drag all my stuff out to the "Haunted Hill" Dig through the shed for sticks, and string, old masks, and clothes for my "dummies" Watching my Husbands face frown, as he see's me filling the yard with my goodies. (and I don't care, either!) Yep, that's what I call living!

Yep, that's a boom box in the middle of the graveyard.

This guy shows up at all my parties, and nobody knows who he is!

I'm Tired

It seems the older I get, the tired-er I become. I see people much older than me that have all kinds of spunk and vitality. If anyone knows their secret, please share it with me. Are they just putting on a good act? Can you train yourself to be an optimist? Or does life take on a new meaning for a person when they hit a certain age?
Maybe, when you get closer and closer to the end of this life, you begin to quit worrying, and start actually "Living". I mean, what do we have to lose? Why not relax and enjoy ourselves. I think we need (speaking for myself) to learn from observing older people, and realize that each day that has passed can not be recovered. If we waste a day worrying, and fretting, that is a day spent for nothing.
The generation that is "old" right now, is a generation that has learned to not be wasteful. What is going to happen when we are in their shoes? I remember certain old crabby ladies when I was a kid. We were afraid of them then, but now I understand that they were the ones that couldn't live a happy life. No happy pills back then. I don't want to be one of those crabby old ladies. Granted I may not get the chance to. Not everyone grows old, either happily or not.
So lets make a vow, to be happier, worry less, and live better NOW.
I heard once that, There is no reason to worry about anything. If the problem is something you can fix, then fix it. If you can't fix it, then you have no control anyway, so don't worry about it.
We do have control over our happiness. When we let bad things make us sad, we are giving power to the negative. We need to not feed the negative, but just brush it off, and laugh about it, and move on. I believe that soon, we won't even notice the little bad things anymore. Most of the bad things that happen to us, are really trivial, and only seem like big problems at the time.
Oh well, that's what I think.

Something to think about

I heard the phrase today "People of no faith" I assume they are referring to those that have no religious beliefs or do not believe in a higher being. Well, this phrase felt so wrong to me. I would hope that, and I believe that, every person should, and most probably do have "faith" in something. Faith can be found in the little ways we trust each other every day. We have faith that The mailman is coming to our house to deliver our mail, and send out our packages. We have faith that our power companies will restore our power after a storm. We have faith that our employers will pay us each week for our time. We have faith that the sun will shine each morning. My hope is that there is not one person on the face of this earth, that does not have "faith" in someone or something. This world is full of faith. I can not begin to imagine a world without it. Faith is trust.

Curiosities

Oh, to live the life of a cat! Sleeping WHENEVER you feel like it, knowing how to make people feed you (your favorite foods) when ever you feel the least little hunger swinge, having an imagination that is bigger than life!

This is Milli, he is about 6 years old. He is my Daughter Rachel's cat, and he had the best time chasing bubbles the other day, and My Grand Daughter Morgan and I had the best time laughing at him. I believe that cats were put on this earth purely to entertain us! They aggravate us, when they yowl for food (when they just ate 30 minutes earlier), they embarrass us by jumping up on the table when we have company (usually when we are about to serve a meal), they tear up the last roll of toilet paper, and then we have to try to put it back together, ultimately giving up and then off to find the Kleenex box. However, the worst thing they do to us is deciding it's time to cuddle when we FINALLY get a chance to sleep in.
No, a cat is not an animal to dominate. We do not send them to training school (however I believe THEY have an uncanny ability to train humans) No matter what kind of trouble they get into, as soon as they do something funny or cute, all is forgiven. I know it's hard to believe, but, in the end, cats give much more than they take. So that is the biggest curiosity of all. How do cats fill an important space in our souls, and aggravate the @*## out of us at the same exact time?

Thank you so much Heather and Lynda ! I haven't been blogging for long. At first I thought, Hmmm... I don't get this blogging thing, but all of a sudden it clicked. I enjoy everyone that I have met on my blog sooo much. I enjoy the interchange of creativity.
Heather is a great friend, and we WILL make to Salem next year. We just needed a little more time to prepare ourselves.
Lynda is a great friend, and another of my SEHA Sisters, whom I slo hope can go to Salem next year. She is a wonderful, and selfless leader.
EVERYONE is so wonderful, and generous. It makes life enjoyable, and restores your faith in people. I believe that many of us were meant to meet each other in some way. This just shows how people were put here on earth to interact, because when something is right it FEELS right.
I'm not sure if I have accomplished anything by my blogging, other than meeting kindred souls, and that I think is the best thing!

This is a wonderful honor, and I would like to pass it on to a few people that I have met that are very thoughtful souls:

Heather of course, has touched my life, she is compassionate, and is one of best friends I've met.
Debb - She is a generous person, and seems to be very caring, and selfless.

Like I said, I haven't been at this blogging long, so I am looking forward to meeting many more positive souls.

Little Coincidences

My soon to be four year old Grand Daughter Morgan spent the day with me yesterday. We were sitting outside and I was explaining about four leaf clovers to her. I picked a regular three leaf clover, and was about to tell her that once in awhile you'll find one with... and then she reached down and picked a four leaf clover. The first one she touched. I didn't even have time for the words to leave my mouth. I was flabergasted. She had no idea how profound it was that she picked a four leaf clover right at that moment. I tried to explain, but she just looked at me like "what's the big deal" and went on over to throw rocks instead. She never ceases to amaze me. Those of you out there with small children, I know you are burdened with stress, but stop awhile, and pay attention to the little things. They really do grow up fast, and then it's all over, these little special moments, these magical little coincidences just stop.

THINGAMAJIG!

I've finished my thingamajig. I decided to paint it as an old fashioned Jack O Lantern. I added paper clay bow tie and ruffle. It is two sided. This was fun!
I kind want to keep him, but I guess I'll list him anyway. I always tell myself "Oh, you can always make yourself another" but of course I never do! I'll put him up on ebay today.

Finally! A full cart!

Some days you can shop every thrift store for 100 miles, and not find a single item. Today it was raining, and I decided to stop in our local hospital thrift store. I found so many things to paint, unique items. It was a good day. I got some wooden coasters, that I will decorate with clay and vintage Halloween images, an oval frame (vintage) and very different. It had no glass, but, last Winter I found some oval glass, and bought it, guess what? It fit! A wooden lap desk, just like the one I painted once before (If you're reading this Sarah, it's made just like yours, I will not paint it the same though). A wooden wine box, that is really cool, but really rough, so painting it will be a challenge. a wooden "coffee house" that hangs on the wall to hold your coffee cups (this will be a haunted house something or other). A wooden candelabra that sits on the table. Yes, now it's time to get busy. No more excuses. I also have two clocks and a thingamajig to paint. It was a good day.

I am feeling the pressure to create as fast as I can. I just have to force myself to slow down and get a plan. My mind is racing in ten different directions. An Unearthly Visitor!

Just a little spooky TRUE story! My 3 year old Great Niece has been visited lately by a departed neighbor. A deceased neighbor and friend of hers and her Mothers that she calls "Neighbor Ron" has been coming to see her. My Sister "her Grandmother" has been the recipient of her "Neighbor Ron" stories. First she told her grandma that "A red truck hit your car" My Sister had actually just noticed a dent a few days earlier, and there is some red paint there. When prodded to explain how she knew this information, she simply stated "Neighbor Ron told me" The second episode happened just a few days ago. While playing in the yard, she exclaimed "There's Neighbor Ron!" My Sister was with her at this time, and quickly asked her where he was. She said "right there Grandma!" But my Sister saw no one. She has also been heard conversing with someone in her bed at night. Ok, now I've even scared myself! Enough of this stuff!
